Denise Griffin Watercolor ExplorationAC001
I have taught drawing and painting for many years, and I particularly enjoy sharing my love and knowledge of watercolor painting with my students. This passion brings back memories of when I used to carry a Prang tin with eight colors wherever I went—on camping trips, beach vacations, and during babysitting jobs. In college, I studied fine arts and worked with oils, acrylics, and pastels, but I always returned to watercolors. I appreciate the simplicity and ease this medium offers. I love the flow of color washes and the blending of new hues on paper.
I'm excited by the unexpected effects that watercolors can create as pigments and water interact in mysterious ways while drying. My goal is to share this enthusiasm with my students and help them discover the delight and magic of watercolor painting. Through the introduction and practice of a few basic techniques, students will have a weekly theme to complete, encouraging experimentation and providing opportunities to gain confidence.
While this might sound complex, the good news is it’s easier than you might think! If you are open to learning, willing to practice the basics, and approach this with a spirit of experimentation, you will discover the beautiful and rewarding results of playing with watercolors.
